Certified HUD Property Inspectors All HUD assisted and insured housing (MF and Public Housing) covered under the Department’s Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) regulations must be inspected by individuals certified in the Department’s UPCS inspection protocol and procedures. Nearly 4 million American families live in rental housing that are owned, insured or subsidized by HUD. To ensure that these families have housing that is decent, safe, sanitary and in good repair. REAC conducts approximately 20,000 physical inspections on properties each year. GHI is one of those contracted by HUD to perform those inspections.

HUD's Federal Housing Administration (FHA) "Office of Multifamily Housing Programs" is responsible for the overall management, development, direction and administration of HUD's Multifamily Housing Programs. Since 1999, HUD has been outsourcing the disposition of its foreclosed FHA inventory under the M&M contracting process. M&M Contractors manage and market single-family properties owned by, or in the custody of the Department. HUD-owned houses are often referred to as HUD Homes.
GHI has been performing HUD HOME inspections since 2005 covering appox 5000 homes. FEMA
FEMA Housing Inspection Services Program provides emergency grants, often within hours of inspection, to aid survivors whose homes have been affected by presidentially declared emergencies or natural disasters in the United States. GHI has been contracted by FEMA with Partnership with Vanguard Emergency Management: Housing Inspection Services to respond to inspection activities for Individual Assistance disasters. |
